A rescue miniature Shetland pony named Rupert from Faversham has been working hard over the last year to raise funds for us – and has achieved the fantastic total of £500!
Part of the show team, the Fairbrook Native Show Team, Rupert is a well-known and loved charity ambassador in Kent.
Throughout 2022, Rupert has visited various events in the county to raise funds for good causes, appearing at a Mad March Market to celebrate the return of businesses after Covid, the Standard Quay’s Christmas market and more recently, he was star of the show on three occasions as Faversham town centre’s Christmas pony.
He’s one of 14 ponies owned by primary school teacher, Kate Spillett. Kate was encouraged to offer Rupert’s fundraising services to support HOLG by friend and local businesswoman, Liz Jeffery, who became aware of our work when we supported her friend’s children after their father died.
Keep an eye on our social media to find out where Rupert will be appearing next! We look forward to seeing him again soon!
