KIMS Hospital is our new corporate sponsor

We’ve been chosen as KIMS Hospital’s Charity of the Year!

For the next two years, fundraising organised by their Social Committee will support us to provide our services to bereaved children and their families.

But it’s not just about the money – the Maidstone-based hospital will also be raising awareness for us, reaching staff, families and professionals who will benefit from knowing who we are and what we do.

Their first event, a Valentine’s Day cake sale and competition, raised £900, with staff, patients and their families enjoying homemade bakes and treats on sale in the reception area.

The cakes entered into the competition were judged by Prema Subaskaran, Executive Chairperson, Richard Dimblebee, Hospital Director and Stewart Bean, Finance Director.
Liane Cook, Imaging Manager, took home the crown for her Red Velvet creation.

The Social Committee, led by Clinical Nurse Manager Keli Tomlin, asked staff for nominations for a new charity to support and from 16, Holding On Letting Go was chosen as one of 4 finalists. A final survey to staff confirmed us as the new KIMS Hospital Charity of the Year.

Keli said: “The Social Committee aims to bring staff together and while we’re having fun, we can raise money for charity too.

“We support our chosen charity for two years to make sure we can raise as much as possible for them through our events and big challenges.

“I knew about Holding On Letting Go from my previous role as a cancer nurse, and was so pleased that the amazing work they do was recognised by the team at KIMS Hospital who voted for them!

“We’re planning lots of events this year including a sponsored hike up Snowdon in the summer.

“The staff, patients and their families really do get involved and are very generous – we’re looking forward to supporting Holding On Letting Go over the next couple of years.”

Good luck KIMS Hospital – and thank you for choosing us!
