HOLG is Pentland Homes’ charity of the year

HOLG is celebrating after receiving the wonderful news that Folkestone based Pentland Homes has chosen us as their charity of the year for 2025.

The property development company voted to support HOLG from a shortlist of charities as the team felt strongly about helping children and families affected by bereavement.

Staff are now busy arranging a mix of fundraisers for the year ahead. Highlights include a paddle tennis tournament for the many keen players in the office, while some team members plan to put their resilience and determination to the test by taking on the mighty Three Peaks Challenge. A number of smaller events, such as quiz nights, are also planned throughout the year.

Pentland Homes Managing Director Paul Kitchingham explains then partnership: “I am delighted to announce Holding On Letting Go as our Charity of the Year for 2025. As a Kent-based SME business, we feel it is important to give back and to support the activities of charities that work within the communities in which we operate. Holding On Letting Go is one such charity. It provides invaluable and dedicated support helping children across Kent to understand and cope with the bereavement of a family member.

“No one wishes to experience the loss of a family member but when this does happen, Holding On Letting Go is there to provide free bereavement and emotional support to children affected by the death of a loved one, and help them to develop emotional resilience skills for moving positively through the grieving process.

“The services offered by Holding On Letting Go are vital and inspiring, ensuring that these children can move through to adulthood with a positive framework to support them.

“At Pentland Homes, we’re committed to making a meaningful difference to the communities we serve, and we are proud to stand behind such a worthwhile cause. We are excited to contribute to Holding On Letting Go through our fundraising efforts this year!”

HOLG CEO Julie Tobin added: “Ongoing support from corporate sponsors such as Pentland Homes is invaluable to a small charity like ours. Knowing that we have an income stream for the months ahead allows us to plan support for more bereaved children. It also helps to spread the word about what we do and potentially reach more families in need.

“It also creates some fantastic team-building opportunities for the businesses that support us. The paddle tournament and particularly the Three Peaks Challenge not only sound like great fun, but are a brilliant way for staff to have fun together and achieve some amazing personal goals – all of course while giving something back. We look forward to seeing how they get on!”
