We were delighted to welcome Medway’s Deputy Mayor, Cllr Sharon Jackson, to our recent showcase event held at Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce’s headquarters.
As the Chamber’s Chosen Charity, the event gave us the chance to highlight to fellow members the vital work we do for bereaved children and their families across Kent. Guests heard about our one‑to‑one support for children, our bereavement weekends, resources for parents and carers, telephone support, and the way we work in schools and alongside other hospices to ensure children receive the help they need.
Cllr Jackson joined local businesses and Chamber members to learn more about the impact of our services. She also shared her own professional background supporting children who would have benefitted from specialist bereavement care, offering valuable insight into why this work matters.
The event raised £254 and provided an important opportunity for people to understand how their donations directly support children as they navigate grief, helping them make sense of their thoughts and emotions, and supporting the adults around them too.
HOLG CEO Jules Tobin commented, “We were honoured to have Cllr Jackson join us at our showcase event. As the Chamber’s chosen charity, we welcome opportunities like this to meet businesses and organisations to spread awareness and gain support for our work. Cllr Jackson’s experience and understanding of what we do helps to underline the importance of bereavement support for children, and we look forward to working with her in the future as we explore opportunities for fundraising and continued partnership.”
