HOLG staff and volunteers are delighted to have received a suite of new laptops and computers made possible by a generous grant from charitable organisation, Cantiacorum Foundation.
Thanks to the funding, totalling £2,925, we have been able to upgrade outdated equipment, improving administrative efficiency and allowing us more time to focus on our bereavement support work.
A modern IT system is essential for ensuring we are able to reach every bereaved child and family in need of our help and provide the support they need as quickly as possible.
Kent-based Cantiacorum Foundation provides grants to local charities assisting with a wide number of causes and is funded entirely by private funds and investments. The foundation reviewed our application outlining our bereavement support work and, after discussing it at their trustees’ meeting, agreed to support us.
Claire Roe, Cantiacorum Foundation Trustee commented, “Upon learning of the work of Holding On Letting Go we were happy to support them with funding for the purchase of new IT equipment to help with the delivery of their vital support to young people affected by the death of a loved one.”
Our CEO, Julie Tobin comments, “We are incredibly grateful to Cantiacorum Foundation for their generous support. This grant will make a tremendous difference to our team – it’s amazing how much stress can be relieved and time saved by a fast, efficient computer!
“It has been especially impactful for one of our staff members who has chronic health conditions and has now been able to move from a desktop PC to a laptop, allowing her to work from home when needed.
“Access to modern technology is essential in today’s world, and this funding not only benefits our valued team, but makes a huge difference in the lives of those we help daily.”
Our Clinical Lead, Debbie McSwiney added: “The new computers have been a godsend – thank you so much! Life is so much easier having an up-to-date computer system – it’s enabled us to have more storage space and update settings and apps – they have really made a difference to our working day.”
