Now in our 20th year of supporting Kent’s bereaved children and young people, we are asking for our friends and supporters to raise £20 for each one of those years!
If we can secure 1,000 donations of £20, the £20,000 raised will fund this year’s 11 bereavement weekends, always offered at no cost to the families we support.
We hold them across the county every month except for August at Demelza House in Sittingbourne, Upton Primary School, Broadstairs and Wrotham School, Wrotham.
Your £20 donation could pay for a bereaved child to take home a memory box and a Holding On Letting Go teddy bear when they attend a bereavement support weekend, both of which will help that particular child to hold onto the precious memories of their loved one.
Our support weekends also include other art and craft and music therapy sessions which we provide all materials for. We aim to give each child a safe place to tell their story, share their feelings and ask their questions, giving them the coping strategies to move forward confidently in life.
Our support extends to the parents and carers of the children we support, with bespoke activities to help them through the grieving process.

CEO Caroline Ford said: “Holding On Letting Go is fortunate to benefit from some Children In Need funding, but we rely on donations and fundraising to continue this vital work supporting bereaved children in Kent and Medway.
We very much appreciate your donation of £20 to celebrate 20 years of helping bereaved children to hold onto good memories and let go of the pain, anger, grief and sadness caused by the death of their loved one.”
