Bereavement support for children, young people and their families

Supporting bereaved children, young people and their families – before or after a death of someone close

Supporting bereaved children before and after a bereavement.

Holding On Letting Go, is a charity that supports bereaved children and young people across Kent and South East London. We help them to hold onto precious memories and let go of the sad ones before and after a bereavement.
Our services are free to the children and families that we support, and anyone can make a referral to us, or ask for our help;

Families themselves, their friends, or other professionals already involved, such as a teacher or GP.

Sometimes, a death is expected, through illness or injury, for example, and at other times, it is more sudden, after an accident, suicide or traumatic death.

We provide wide-ranging support, to children and young people aged up to 18.

We support children struggling to cope:

Pre-bereavement

Supporting the child and their family before an expected death, helping them to prepare for the death, funeral, and facing the future.

Post-bereavement

Supporting the child and their family after a bereavement; as soon as it has happened, or many years later – we are here to help a child with bereavement at any stage, should they need our support.
